Sellblocks vs Shopify page builders

Page builders are flexible, and for some stores they are the right tool. But they are a subscription, and your pages live inside someone else's app. Here is the honest comparison, with every price sourced.

Even the cheapest of these, kept for two years, costs more than All-Access. Prices change, so check the listings before you decide.

What happens when you stop paying

This is the part most comparisons skip. In the vendors' own help documentation:

  • GemPages says uninstalling can affect your live pages by removing files and scripts. GemPages help
  • EComposer says pages keep working for 48 hours after uninstalling, then move to trash and are deleted after 30 days. EComposer help
  • Shogun says pages stay live as HTML, but some stored data can be removed and editing outside Shogun can strip styling. Shogun help

Shopify's own guidance lists installed apps as one of the biggest factors in store speed, and notes that uninstalling an app does not always remove its code. Shopify Help Center

When a page builder is the better choice

If you need to build many one-off landing pages for campaigns every week, with drag-and-drop freedom, a page builder may suit you better. If you want a fast, conversion-built store you own and edit in the normal Shopify editor, Sellblocks is the simpler and cheaper route.

How easy is Sellblocks to set up?

Upload one zip in Shopify admin, edit in the theme editor, publish. About five minutes, no code and no app. See the install guide. Already happy with your theme? The All-Access section library drops into any Online Store 2.0 theme, including Dawn.
